All nearly endless variety of dresses could be sorted into these categories:
  • by silhouette: v-line, trapezoid, tent, empire, low waist, I-line, sheath, pegged, bell, princess, balloon
  • by the level of waist line: empire, high waist, natural waistline, dropped (or low waist)
  • by the level of hem line
