Generalization.
Use simplified, abstract graphic shapes rather than realistic looks.
Think of your fashion flat drawing as a blueprint for your apparel project, not an artistic/realistic drawing. Simplification of multifaceted shapes and generalization of complexity is what fashion flat drawing is meant to do. Ideally, fashion flat drawing operates with simplified generalized symbols and not with realistically drawn objects. Clearly, these symbols still have to be unambiguously reasonable but they should not depict more than it is necessary for understanding of type of garment which is depicted.
